Labor of Love
Every element of Halcyon House has been carefully considered and handcrafted. This cabin is a celebration of material, craft, and the unique character of The Sea Ranch.
Monterey Cypress: The interiors—walls, ceilings, floors, and custom furniture—are built from Monterey Cypress trees that we milled ourselves. This tree has a special connection to The Sea Ranch's landscape and history.
Reclaimed Redwood: The exterior features old-growth redwood reclaimed from the deconstructed Mira Loma Air Force Station in Jurupa Valley, giving new life to historic materials.

Your Hosts
Hi, we're Matt and Jen. We're building Halcyon House as a labor of love—bringing together our passion for craft, design, and the natural beauty of The Sea Ranch.
Matt is serving as the general contractor, bringing his background as an artist and builder to every detail of this project. We're committed to creating a space that honors both the materials we're working with and the remarkable landscape they inhabit.
We look forward to welcoming you to Halcyon House and helping you experience the tranquility and beauty of The Sea Ranch.
